Modeling the crystallization kinetics of polymers displaying high levels of secondary crystallization

چکیده

Abstract The isothermal crystallization of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) was evaluated using a range models, namely, Avrami, simplified Hillier, Tobin, Malkin, Urbanovici–Segal, Velisaris–Seferis, and Hay. Two methods model evaluation were used: determination the parameters through traditional double log plots curve fitting via nonlinear, multivariable regression. Visual inspection cumulative curves, calculation R 2 value standard error regression, returned used to assess which best describes experimental data. Hay found generate fit, closely followed by Velisaris–Seferis parallel model, suggesting that primary secondary occur concurrently. Tobin models perform well when data is restricted region where dominates; however, they could not be successfully entire process. This work highlights importance selecting most appropriate for analyzing kinetics, especially high levels lamellar thickening infilling during crystallization.

Non-isothermal Primary Crystallization Kinetics of the Amorphous Fe85.3B11P3Cu0.7 Alloy

In the present research, the primary crystallization kinetics of the amorphous Fe85.3B11P3Cu0.7 alloy was analyzed using non-isothermal DSC measurements. The average and local activation energies, Ea, were determined by different isokinetic and isoconversional methods. The results obtained for activation energy in this research, show that due to the complexity of the primary crystallization pro...

Crystallization kinetics of glasses

Thermophysical bases of vitrification and crystallization are discussed in terms of the enthalpy versus temperature diagram and its derivative (DTA) illustrating relaxation and glass transformation as well as crystallization of glassy and amorphous states to form stable and metastable phases. Non-isothermal kinetics are thoroughly discussed and the use of one(JMAEK) and two(SB) parameter equati...

Non-isothermal Crystallization of Polymers

This paper is devoted to the study of mathematical problems arising in the modelling of nonisothermal polymer crystallization under industrial conditions. A review of the hybrid stochastic-deterministic modelling procedure, which yields an averaged model 5;8 , is given and supplied by the study of mathematical problems arising from it. Furthermore, multiple scale eeects in the crystallization p...

Crystallization Kinetics Study in Al87Ni10La3 Amorphous Alloy

In this study, the crystallization behavior of melt-spun Al87Ni10La3 amorphous phase was investigated by using X-ray diffraction and non-isothermal differential thermal analysis techniques. The results demonstrated that the amorphous phase exhibited two-stage crystallization on heating, i.e., at first step the amorphous phase transforms into α-Al phase and at second step Al11La3 and Al3Ni inter...

Crystallization Kinetics of Metallic Glasses

Metallic glasses are kinetically metastable materials. Metallic glass is defined as “A liquid, which has been cooled into a state of rigidity without crystallizing”. Properties of metallic glasses differ form non metallic glasses. Ordinary glasses are made up of silica while metallic glasses are made of alloy metals. Ordinary glasses are transparent whereas metallic glasses are opaque. In ordin...
